In China, there is a mysterious group of people called ‘scalpers’ who have become active, whether it’s in the purchase of concert tickets, food and beverage or even hospital medicine, scalpers are everywhere. What I’m concerned about is what and who ‘feeds’ this group. Besides the imperfections of the market order, are there some consumer characteristics or even consumer psychology that help this group to grow? With learning from the design of Chinese deities, I created a set of scalper gods and record the crimes committed by the group in the hope of bringing people’s attention to this phenomenon.
